Coleen Gill -

Coleen was born in the East Riding and was married at Elloughton Church to Terry in 1977. Coleen has a son and daughter, both of whom she is very proud of.

Coleen has been a councillor for 16 years, firstly with Elloughton-cum-Brough Parish, then Beverley Borough Council, and was re-elected to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council four years ago.

Coleen is a member of the ERYC Plan-ning Committee and also is the Liberal Democrat Chairman for the Healthy Environment Review and Scrutiny Committee.

Coleen has always been regarded as a full time councillor. Apart from carrying out her East Riding duties, she regularly visits Parish meetings throughout Dale Ward.

Coleen is also a governor for both South Cave & Welton County Primary Schools.
She instigated the Welton Road Liaison Committee which encourages local res-idents, planning officers and developers to work to obtain more amenities for Brough.

Coleen says, “I will remain committed to helping residents with all kinds of Council issues. In particular I will continue to campaign against waste incinerators in favour of recycling, I will totally oppose uneconomical Council spending and massive pay awards and support all sensible moves to improve our schools & education system”
