South Cave Junction Update
11-04-03

After recent discussions with the Highways Agency to see what the current situation is concerning the South Cave Junction, Cllr Anita Kay can report that there is now a verbal agreement between the Council and the Highways Agency for the proposed improvements.

The Councils preliminary designs are now going out to an external consultant who will carry out a Safety Audit, before the detailed designs can be finalised.

Extensive alterations are in the pipeline for the A63 corridor, with the traffic lights installations at the junction of Welton and Brough, and the grand separated junction at Melton now given the go ahead, concerns about the disruption this will cause are at the forefront of everyone’s mind.

Cllr Anita Kay says I do not want the work to other junctions on the A63 corridor alter the priority of improvements to the South Cave junction, and have sought assurances that the improvements will go ahead as soon as possible.
